To implement the guidelines and policies promulgated by the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and State Council concerning retired staffs.
To draft implementing measures within the ministry in accordance with the principle of unified management and separated welfares.
To organize retired staffs to read and study government documents and participate in political activities. Be responsible for the service arrangement including health care, welfare, recreation and using of vehicles.
To lead the role in exerting the role of retired staffs in constructing two cultures of socialism.
To organize funeral and deal with other affairs along with other related agencies.
To supervise and guide the work concerning retired staffs in subsidiary agencies, and transfer or convey government documents to retired staffs in subsidiary agencies.
To undertake other affairs related to retired staffs.
