Professor John Holdren from Kennedy School of Government Came to Visit

Recently, Professor John Holdren, Director of the Science, Technology and Public Policy Program and Madam Kelly Sims Gallagher, Director of the Energy Technology Innovation Project of Harvard University, Kennedy School of Government led a delegation on a visit to China. SHANG Yong, Chinese Vice Minister of Science and Technology hosted a banquet in honor of the delegation and exchanged ideas with them on cooperation in the field of clean energy policy.

 

As academician of the two US academies, Professor John Holdren used to be a member of President Clinton's Committee of Advisors on Science and Technology and enjoys high prestige in the US S&T and political circles and has established cooperative relations with MOST in the field of energy policy. During this visit to China, Professor Holdren also visited the Energy Bureau of the National Development and Reform Commission and Tsinghua University and conducted a seminar on the development of hybrid vehicles in China jointly with China Automotive Technology & Research Center.
