On 27 November 2006, the appraisal conference on the GEF/UNDP China Demonstration Project of Fuel Cell Bus Commercialization (second phase) was conducted in the representative office of UNDP in China. Representatives from MOST, the Ministry of Finance, etc. attended this conference.

The conference reviewed the result of the phase-1 project and also sought advice on the implementation of the phase-2 project. Since its initiation in 2003, the China Demonstration Project of Fuel Cell Bus Commercialization has enjoyed close attention of all social circles. The 3 fuel-cell vehicles acquired by Beijing for the phase-1 project have already been running safely for 27,592 kilometers and have delivered 3,000 person-times of passengers.
