MOST and Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) jointly convened the Workshop on Increasing Farmers’ Incomes and Restoring Grasslands Ecosystem on December 14, 2006. Mr. Vincent Hudson, Agriculture Counsellor of the Australian Embassy to China and Mr. WANG Guanglin, Assistant Manager of ACIAR North Asia were present at the workshop.

Researchers from both sides briefed on the achievements made in Gansu Province on realizing ecological remediation and increasing farmers’ incomes. They made proposals on future efforts in those areas. The workshop also accepted enthusiastic input from attendants on future orientation and sustainable development in western China.
