The 2nd Annual Meeting of Intelligent Transport System (ITS) in China was staged in Beijing on December 20, 2006. Vice Minister CAO Jianlin addressed the meeting on behalf of the Steering Group of National ITS and MOST.
According to CAO, ITS had brought about profound changes in the format and mentality of transport. It was an important field for technological innovation and also a point of departure to break fresh ground in mechanism and institution. ITS proved to be an efficient tool of management as it enabled better service to the people and enhancement of transportation safety and environmental protection.
