Recently, the joint Chinese-Brazilian efforts on the development of ZY-2B earth resources satellite were concluded and the satellite will be launched in May 2007. This will be the third satellite of its kind jointly launched by China and Brazil.

At present, the installation and testing laboratory of Brazilian National Space Research Institute is in the final stage of installing the space environment simulation chamber. This simulation chamber weighs about 150 tons and is 9 meters wide and 10 meters both in height and length. It is used for testing the 1500kg ZY-2B earth resources satellite.
