Vice Minister SHANG Yong met with Dr. Coulombe, President of the National Research Council (NRC) of Canada on January 17, 2007.

According to SHANG, the mechanism of MOST-NRC steering committee meeting would continue within the framework of China-Canada S&T Cooperation Agreement. Substantive cooperation was expected in commonly recognized priority fields where both sides enjoyed strength, including energy, biomedicine, ICT, nanotechnology, marine technology and SME innovation.
