On 2 February 2007, MOST held a meeting to launch implementation of special projects of basic S&T undertakings. With the vigorous support of the Ministry of Finance, MOST launched special projects of basic S&T last year, to strengthen the weak points in basic S&T work. With extensive survey and research and hearings including comprehensive consultation of experts, 30 projects have bee decided on including “Investigation of China’s Glacier Resources and their Changes”, “Investigation into Features of Psychological Development of Children and Adolescents in China”, with a total outlay of RMB 250 million Yuan.
