Vice Minister CHENG Jinpei Visits Hong Kong

From 22 to 26 January 2007, Vice Minister CHENG Jinpei led a delegation on a visit to Hong Kong, where he inspected the partner laboratories of the state key laboratories and the situation of basic research in Hong Kong, attended the 22nd inauguration ceremony of Hong Kong Association for the Advancement of Science & Technology. He had a consultative meeting with the Commerce, Industry and Technology Bureau and the Education and Manpower Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) and the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in HK SAR on matters concerning S&T exchange and cooperation between the mainland and Hong Kong.

Vice Minister CHENG Jinpei visited Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong and the House of Innovation and Nanotechnology Centre of Hong Kong Polytechnic University. CHENG expressed his congratulation and appreciation for the substantial achievements made by the scientific and technological circles of Hong Kong and indicated that MOST will spare no efforts in supporting S&T exchange and cooperation between the mainland and Hong Kong as well as Hong Kong's S&T development.
