“Survey of China’s Glacier Resources and Their Changes”, a special project in basic science was officially kicked off recently in Beijing.

“Survey of China’s Glacier Resources and Their Changes” is the 2^nd comprehensive investigation to glacier resources，studying glacier inventories by monitoring glacier changes and through representative samples. Such a project is of strong basic research nature, the result of which can extensively support other science and technology work.
