On April 29th, the expert panel meeting on the project of “Chinese Fossil Phyla Systematic Summarization and Annals Compilation and Research”, a basic research project of MOST, was held in Nanjing.

It was noted that with the in-depth and solid systematic classification as the main research content, the project would collate and stipulate the genera and species of several hundred thousands kinds of fossils published over a number of decades in China and would lay a solid academic foundation for the development of paleontology in China.
