From July 29 to 30, the 2008 Forum on Oceanic Frontier Technologies was held in Guangzhou. It was jointly hosted by China¡¯s 863 Program, the Department of Earth Sciences of National Natural Science Foundation and the Administrative Center for China¡¯s Agenda 21, and organized by Sun Yat-sen University.
With the theme of exploring marine frontier technologies, advocating indigenous innovation and achieving leapfrogging development, this event covers seven technologies including marine environment monitoring, marine acoustics, deep-sea probe, marine oil & gas exploration and development, marine oil & gas engineering, marine microbe and functional gene development and utilization, and the development and utilization of oceanic natural products and bio-products. Over 180 experts addressed the forum.
