Vice Minister Cao Jianlin of MOST and Indonesian Deputy Minister of Research and Technology Teguh Rahardjo signed the Inter-governmental MOU on S&T Cooperation in Jakarta on December 13, 2011.
The MOU replaces the former bilateral MOU signed in 1994. It will facilitate extensive cooperation between China and Indonesia under the framework of China-ASEAN S&T Partnership. The signing ceremony was held on the side line of the 2011 China-Indonesia S&T Week.
Co-hosted by MOST and MRT on December 13-15, the S&T Week was a full success. It was held in the wake of China-ASEAN Summit, when Premier Wen proposed China-ASEAN S&T Partnership. During the S&T Week, applicable technologies and products were exhibited in the areas of agriculture, traditional medicine and new energy. Over 120 universities, research institutes and enterprises of the two countries participated in the event, including seminars on traditional medicine and new energy.
