On December 12, Minister Wan Gang met with Mr. Marco Antonio Raupp, Brazilian Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation in Beijing. The two sides exchanged views on deepening science and innovation cooperation.
Minister Wan said that Brazil is an important partner of China in carrying out science and innovation cooperation in Latin America. In recent years, China-Brazil S&T partnership has developed rapidly, with closer ties between competent authorities of S&T, research institutes and scientific personnel. The joint research centers and joint labs have been operating very well. Minister Wan also remarked that China is willing to work with Brazil to deepen S&T cooperation and bring benefits to the two peoples.
Minister Raupp agreed with Minister Wan, saying that Brazil gives great prominence to the bilateral S&T collaboration, which has facilitated technical exchanges, translation of research findings, and research & development. Mr. Raupp pointed out that Brazil will continue to carry out pragmatic cooperation with China in various areas.
Participants of the meeting include Mr. Valdemar Carneiro Leao, Brazilian Ambassador to China, Mr. Ma Linying, DDG of International Cooperation, Mr. Zhang Zhihong, Executive DDG of Torch High Technology Industry Development Center, Mr. Chen Jiachang, DDG of Hi-tech Development and Industrialization, Mr. Yang Zhe, DDG of S&T for Social Development, and Mr. Cao Guoying, DDG of Basic Research.
