On March 20, Minister Wan Gang met with Mr. Julian Ventura Valero, Mexican Ambassador to China. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening and expanding China-Mexico relationship in science, technology and innovation.
Minister Wan said that China has always been giving great prominence to S&T cooperation with Mexico. The two countries enjoyed a solid foundation and promising prospect in traditional medicine, biotechnology, agro-forestry and panda protection, and water conservancy. China is willing to work with Mexico for further cooperation in new energy and electric vehicle as well as the soliciting of research projects.
Ambassador Julian said that as an important component of China-Mexico comprehensive strategic partnership, China-Mexico STI cooperation is carried out in a steady pace and with full vitality. On the basis of deepening traditional cooperation, Mexico hopes to closely collaborate with China in new energy, auto industry and high-tech zone.
Mr. Cai Jianing, counselor of the Department of International Cooperation attended the meeting.
