ITER CNDA and CPCEC Hold Work Meeting

On the afternoon of January 4, 2017, the China International Nuclear Fusion Energy Program Execution Center (¡°ITER CNDA¡±) and the China Power Complete Equipment Co., Ltd. (¡°CPCEC¡±) held a work meeting. Attending the meeting were ITER CNDA Director General Luo Delong, Deputy Director General Sun Jian, Technical Director Pan Chuanhong and CPCEC General Manager Jin Donglai, Deputy General Manager Hu Yamin and Deputy Chief Engineer Gao Yuzhong.

CPCEC General Manager Jin Donglai introduced the history, main business and the Thirteenth Five-Year Development Plan of CPCEC, stressing the company¡¯s strengths in on-site service and tender agency for nuclear power projects and overseas projects. Meanwhile, the two sides exchanged views on the current status of their cooperation in the ITER Project and vowed to remain fully committed to the supervised manufacturing tasks of the ITER Project, maintain the good work progress and make further improvement by acting in line with the principles of safeguarding China¡¯s national image and pushing forward the long-term development of fusion energy in the country, so as to ensure sound supervised equipment manufacturing of AC/DC, reactive power compensation and PPEN procurement packages.

ITER CNDA Director General Luo Delong briefly reviewed the history of China¡¯s participation in the negotiation over the ITER Project and explained the significance and achievements of China¡¯s participation in the ITER Project based on China¡¯s ¡°Three-Step¡± development strategy for nuclear energy science and technology. He expressed thanks to the CPCEC management for attaching great importance to and actively undertaking the supervised manufacturing tasks of China¡¯s ITER procurement packages and extended his appreciation of CPCEC for its early support and achievements. Meanwhile, ITER CNDA Deputy Director General Sun Jian and Project Management Division Chief He Kaihui also reported on the overall progress of the ITER Project, the main work undertaken by China and preparation for CFETR.

Centering on the topics of further expanding cooperation and achieving mutual benefits, the two sides also held in-depth discussions on other matters, including the expansion of the scope of supervised manufacturing, provision of technical consulting, conducting of tender agency work, and development of nuclear power technology.
